Auxerre v PSG [R]

Published by: rose 2009-01-08

  • Allez Paris?

Good news for PSG this week is that our two new Uruguayan internationals, Carlos Bueno and Christian Rodriguez have both been cleared to play for PSG and could well be in the match squad for the trip to Auxerre.

Landrin is still out, and Rozenhal is still not 100% and will have a late fitness test.

Although going to the Abbe Deschamps is tough and Santini is in charge, Auxerre have been very incosistent this season.

Me thinks a 1-1 draw with Kalou scoring against his old club...

    Bueno + Rodriguez

  • Auxerre 2-0 PSG

  • This was a tough loss. I didn't see the first 45 minutes but PSG dominated the second half.

The first half was more even. If it were a round of boxing, Auxerre might have won on points, but there was no indication that PSG was in any trouble.

  • real bad... pauleta did not have any real chances... cisse scored an own goal... rozenhal started some nice counter-attacks but some times shaky in defense... yepes good as usual... mendy seemed a little better than usual... armand was ok... but dhorasso is not in form... rothen seemed unsure of himself... and kalou played as if he was alone on the field...

a nicely filled parc des princes against monaco this week should help things out  ... i hope...

  • psg did not control the match at all. i really doubt the ability of the middle and forward players. we seem control the second half but that's because they already got one goal and want to hold the result for a win. we just can't organize well and make chances. how can we be a G14 member in such a way...

Dec 28, 2007 I also think that Aulas is poking fun at PSG’s refusal to negotiate with Lyon but I would not mind negotiation with Nice or Auxerre.

  • 'Sigh.' Maybe Lyon will win the league by 20 points this year.

  • This was a tough loss. I didn't see the first 45 minutes but PSG dominated the second half. A 2-0 loss did not reflect who controlled the game. But football is never fair. The one complain, besides the loss, is that the crosses were mostly poor. When the crosses were failing, another tactic was needed--like running at the defense and relying on short passes close to the box.

The games I've seen so far this year highlight two interesting things: (1) PSG's defense is much stronger than last year (but they couldn't really go down could they). (2) We seem to take care of the bottom teams but have yet to beat the squads that will challenge for European places (losses to St. Etienne, Marseille, and Auxerre). Take care.

  • SON OF A B**CH! I turned on the tv for the last 10 minutes, forgot it was on FSC here in the USA. Shakin my head with disgust.

  • I'm with you....1-1 sounds just about right. PSG are exactly destroying the opposition, but they still aren't losing as much as last season.
