Bring it boys! :)
I'll take anything less than a 2 goal loss! ;)
Im pretty happy with how we went, the squad we picked isn't much so to last with Argentina for 70 mins is a good effort, we should of had a penalty early in the game for a handball but refs didn't see it. Good effort from us.
No kiding I woke early and rojadirecta is not working!!!!:rolleyes:
We now have to win our last game against Ivory Coast. You guys have actually played them, are they that good, or just lucky?
After watching Argentina play against both teams, I think Ivory Coast has the edge in terms of talent. Against Argentina they counterattacked, but I would imagine that against Australia they will try to take the iniciative. They have some dangerous players. Keep an eye on Gervinho. Not only he has a Brazilian sounding name but he plays like a top Brazilian player.
Ustari 6: Didn't have much to do.
Zabaleta 7: Great effort, joining the attack effectively and solid defensively, although he wasn't pressured.
Garay 5: Not a lot of work, but like the rest of the defense he didn't transmit security.
Fazio 5: A step down from Pareja's play in the previous game. Like Garay, he didn't fully convince against a team that didn't pressure much.
Monzon 5: Was ok joining the attack, but defensively he still had problems, in spite of the weaker opposition.
Gago 6: Very active defensively, but still sloppy with the ball.
Mascherano 7: Another solid defensive effort, and he also joined the attack well and had a nice shot on goal.
Riquelme 6: He showed himself and made some good passes, he created some danger, but i thought he often positioned himself too far from their penalty area. And, he missed some opportunities that a player of his caliber should make.
Messi 7: The most dangerous player in the game, but not a great match by his high standard. He was less active than in the first match, and he missed some chances that he usually makes.
Lavezzi 7: He fought and worked hard and he got a well deserved goal with a nice finish.
Aguero 5: He started well, but then dissapeared.
Di Maria 8: He came in and provided a spark when the team needed it. Put a great ball to Lavezzi for the win, and another one that Riquelme should have finished. Encyclopedia of BabyNames. Overall it was a well deserved win but a rather disappointing effort against a rival that was disciplined in defense and tried to make it difficult to play.
Final Score: Argentina 1 Australia 0. Nice goal by Lavezzi, after a nifty combination between Riquelme and Messi ended with Di Maria putting a brilliant ball for Pocho to one-time it to where the goalie had no chance.
Argentina missed lots of chances, but credit has to be given to Australia for their tactical discipline that kept them in the match.
Well done to you guys- you did deserve the win, but I was actually mildy and happily surprised by our performance. We actually created a few good chances, so for that I am happy- we weren't embarrassed. ;)

is anyone showing this game
we should of had a penalty early in the game for a handball but refs didn't see it.
Actually the ref had already blown the play dead because of a previous foul by an Australian player.
Seems all sites are down, Justin.Tv is screwed too!! For this I only got 4 hours sleep!! What good are the events if we can't watch what we like??? Even Basketball is not working, yet Brazils game is:rolleyes:.
For me DiMaria is a contstant revelation, this kid will go places, he reminds a heck of a lot of Killy. Lavezzi I think has worked hard and played well both matches thus far, but where the heck is Kun?? Very dissapointing to see him struggling this early on. Gago to me is really not with it yet and this is a concern since we pull up so often, we will get caught on a counter through the middle:(. Monzon!! What the heck guy wake up this is your tourney to impress. I thought Fazio actually was not too bad his height did come into play a few times and his timing was good. Zabaletta well what did I say, he will replace Zanetti nicely. Messi to me needed to loosen up more he looked hesitant and a few times he should have just ran into the box and not looked for the pass.Roman was OK , but we know this from him allready, one great game , then one so-so. I think against Serbia we should give Messi a break and Roman, start Bounanotte, Di maria should get a start too and Banega some time as well. Overall I think things are going well but we must learn to be carefull not give the ball away in the center of the pitch and be carefull of the quick counters, and most importantly learn to shoot and not be so darn hesitant,,, and finish please!!!
If people pay attention to what I say and book mark more than one channel, you can be watching the game. Canadians CBC is showing the game, you just have to be a little attentive. :)

That's apparently what they did to Serbia last night. I'm worried about their sheer pace, which might burn our players.
If they take the game to us, and we keep the same discipline as we did last night, I think we're in with a chance. If we play like we did against Serbia, we're going home already ;)
