I have tested security applications for a very long time . Once I found Outpost , I bought it . That , in itself , says something . Only two others were worthy of my money . When 2.6 came along , it gave me problems . To this day , I do not know what the cause was . But , 2.6 is running along fine . Rest assured , I was going to toss it because , the fits it gave me were not worth my time . It caused me to go looking at a few I had in the back of my mind . Tiny for one . It was great back a bit ago . The new version is a joke when compared to Outpost . I liked Kerio 4.1 . Like the 4.13 . It AIN ' t Outpost . Nothing is . Not trying to be bias toward Outpost but , this is the very top . I test , only occasionally , firewalls now because there is no need . I am very unbias when it comes to security . And believe it or not , I am being unbias now . I still believe that 2.5 may have been cleaner but , who am I to say ? All i know is I reformatted to get my Outpost back . And it was worth every second ! Are there good firewalls out there ? Yes . I used to think some were as good as Outpost . For what it does and the configurability , FORGET IT . Tiny adds things that outpost does not . But , alot of people have said adding cookie control , referrer blocking , pop up blocking , and so on is uncalled for in a firewall . That is crap ! Those things SHOULD be in a firewall and Outpost has it . ( them ) . I now state that there is none better , as of today , for the home user , than Outpost Pro . Period ! I bought Outpost, after trying other firewalls too. Outpost has a nice interface, and does not slow down my system like some others did. I used to run Norton Internet Security, but I got tired of my system slowing down. It made my hard drives access too much. Now I have Outpost for firewall and Avast for antivirus. All working good, and using less resources than Norton.
The new Browser Adjustment, is something I've been wanting for a long time. It is really handy to set different properties for certain websites. The AD blocking also works great. A View From The Top::
