1. I have placed a small gif rotating button on my site.
You load it, it works fine. Then you go to other pages to read articles
and when you return to this page, the button is not rotating!
You click 'refresh' or 'reload' button on the browser
and it rotates again. Why? Is there any html code to make it
spin everytime?
2. If a site is on a single computer, or in a
network of two three computers, is there a counter that
can be placed? I want a really simple counter without any CGI or Pearl.
Is there any? Just to count the hits? Please help
If you have access to server logs they can be massaged to provide all sorts of information. There are a number of log analyzers out there - never used one but I've read about them. PS Term - nice logo - where did you pick that up?? ;-)
The gif problem is most likely a bug in the browser, and to counmt the number of hits, the only way is to use a server side script/cgi. There are many sites that will provide statistics about your users on the internet such as the number of visotors and their browsers.

I basically have ran into the same type of problem as "ranasadick"....
I have a Gif on my site that quits looping when people click
the link that lets you stream music from my site to the default music player in their
computer.
The Gif works fine all the rest of the time,no matter where you go in
the site.I suppose because you click the button to reload the page
that the Gif is on when you want to go back to that page.I created the lighthouse
Gif myself and i made sure it was saved as continuously looping.
Anybody know what the answer might be for keeping the Gif going after
clicking the link? I've been all over our forums here and all over the web trying
to come up with a solution and a fix for this and have hit a roadblock with it.
Check it out for yourself,,,,go halfway down the homepage and click the
"Click here for streaming music while you surf"button. Then go back up
and look at the lighthouse light.

Maybe javascript can do it, however, many can disable java and javacripts. As far as your first question, the first thing that comes to mind is if the gif is programmed to run only certain times to rotate and not loop. But this would happen again when you clik back to page. It sounds like something else is going on. Did you make the gif? 6th grade math problem:: If anything is unclear, please don?t hesitate to ask for clarification. . (if this problem didnt have such an small LCM this would be the most practical http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=426583HOME |
Get a professional to look at the source and find the problem, that is, if you can't find anybody here who can fix it perfectly.

I've been so busy will full time job and my business that I did not have the time to sit down and play so I contracted Elise to do it. My first design was similar then I changed it again, so in talking with her she came up with something similar with what I had originally, so we were on same thinkin/track. I did not have Illustrator at time and that is what she used. I know have Illustrator so I can start to play and create so to speak.
I needed something that wll keep resolution with resizing. Thanks for the compliment. It will take me a bit longer to get that good. I'm still playing around with Illustrator.
