With offices initially in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, and Ottawa,
Ericsson's new business group will provide Internet Protocol-based
consulting and business solutions. The initiative is designed to spearhead
Ericsson's entry into the business-related Internet services industry.
The group, Ericsson Professional Services, has proven expertise in areas
such as intranets, extranets, virtual private networks, electronic commerce,
webcasting and custom IP applications. Current clients include a cross section of industrial, financial, utilities, media, and communication companies across Canada.
"This key step strengthens Ericsson's capability to be a business solution
provider in the Canadian Internet services market. It builds on our Internet
based product development and R&D activity around the world," said Brian
