Accounting software provider Solution 6 has announced a partnership with GSTpay, an ASP software and services provider which hosts Web sites for accountants.

GSTpay is an ASP-enabled software solution that simplifies the Business Activity Statement (BAS) taxation reporting process and Goods and Services Tax (GST) payments. The product has been produced by GSTpay, in conjunction with Ernst & Young, and received funding earlier this year from the TinSHED Angel investment group.

GSTpay provides the accountant, as well as small, medium and larger enterprises, a means to work together online to produce, review, itemize, lodge, track and achieve BAS payments, replacing a lengthy manual process.

Solution 6's general manager of e-business and the accounting industry David Smith, said by simplifying the complete BAS process, GSTpay saves the accountant and their clients time and money.

"Solution 6 understands the additional pressures accountants face under the reforms to the taxation system. GSTpay provides the cure to the BAS headache," he said. "This is the only software that empowers the accountant to complete, review, electronically lodge and approve payment of Business Activity Statements on behalf of their clients."

The GSTpay service will be offered to accountants and their clients through Solution 6's eSite, a service allowing accountants to deliver a range of e-business services to their client through their Web site.

"Our partnership with Solution 6 will provide the major platform to deliver the GSTpay program to the accounting industry and will be supported with further partnerships to enact the payment delivery aspect for the ATO," said GSTpay chief executive officer Colin Stewart.
