The Australian Sources gateway will exist as a searchable catalogue of businesses, supported by individual Web sites for each supplier.

In addition to these free and more generic listing services, advertisers can also use their businesses via custom-built online catalogues.

The idea is to allow businesses to offer a growing network of buyers all of the information they need at one source, according to Pacific Access acting group manager for new media, Ian Leuchars.

Global Sources has networks in China, Thailand and South Africa, and generates more than 48,000 sales enquiries per week.

The network also services retailers such as Hitachi, Siemens, NEC, Coles Myer and Woolworths.
