AOL Canada, Bell Nexxia and UUNET Canada have more than tripled the
coverage of AOL Canada's dial-up access network through a strategic
alliance.
Stephen Bartkiw, CEO of AOL Canada said that the alliance with Bell
Nexxia and UUNET Canada delivers on his firm's commitment to provide a
convenient interactive online service for Canadians from coast to coast.
Through this alliance, AOL Canada and Bell Nexxia will conduct a market
trial of DSL access to AOL Plus, AOL Canada's broadband product, with
AOL Canada members this winter in Toronto. This DSL access will provide
a direct connection to the Internet up to 30 times faster than
traditional dial-up access.

Bell Nexxias broadband network support is
to ensure that AOL Canada can provide service to its members with local
access numbers in every province.
The agreement also extends UUNET's commitment to AOL Canada, and
accelerates expansion of its shared network infrastructure in Canada,
according to Chris Scatliff, president and CEO of UUNETs Canadian
operations. UUNET owns and operates a global Internet network throughout
North America, and in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
